NEW YORK, NEW YORK – Creative Visions—with support from the Bezos Family Foundation—has chosen 100cameras to receive a grant to support the expansion of their peacebuilding initiatives as a part of the Students Rebuild Spark Peace Project, a global movement that invites young people everywhere to use their power and creativity to build a more peaceful world.

Through a mix of photographs and personal stories, the exhibit offers a raw, unfiltered look into their emotional landscapes, illustrating the challenges, aspirations, and hopes that shape their lives.
In 2024, 100cameras, in collaboration with UNIDIR, UNICEF, War Child, and local partners, launched a groundbreaking participatory initiative across Nigeria, Iraq, and Colombia, aimed at transforming how the global community engages with and supports youth affected by conflict.
Through this initiative, we provided young people with a multi-media training program, equipping them with photography and research skills, creating a space to process their experiences, build their networks, and ultimately elevate their voices in policymaking discussions that will impact both them and their communities.

This report describes a participatory photography and research programme that UNIDIR's MEAC project, 100cameras, War Child, UNICEF and its local partners ran with conflict-affected children and youth in Nigeria, Iraq and Colombia in 2024. This programme encompassed a multi-media integrated training to equip participants with photography and research skills and the space to process their experiences and build their skills and support network.
Ultimately, the goal of this programme was to elevate their voices into policymaking discussions that will ultimately impact them and their peers. The report provides an overview of the programme’s implementation, including the curriculum design, participant experiences and key lessons learned. The report is a resource for decision-makers and practitioners seeking to adopt child- and youth-centred participatory research and programming approaches in conflict-affected settings.
