THE ROUND TABLE EXPLORES

Together we discuss with guest Jamaarien Gant the mindsets and business of photography, how creativity can be iterated from generation to generation, and the joys of broadening your creative boundaries. Additionally, we explore Gant’s experience and reflections on the 100cameras program experience as a student. “How photography and that course, in general, have related to me and expressing emotions and understanding it, I would summarize that as photography - the course, the 100cameras course - has allowed me to really conceptualize and understand the point, the importance of empathy in a photo and the importance of accuracy and precision in the photo,” reflects Gant.

Slowing down and realizing that I have to make time for certain things and not rush because I tend to rush a lot. I’m always wanting to get to the next step in life. And if I continued to rush and not breathe, I’m not really boosting my mental state or my physical being.
